The Foundation will devote its time, effort, and resources to the creation, planning and implementation of activities and operations specifically designed to uplift the community; thus, improve the quality of life for its residents and provide scholarships to college bound students.

Greetings, on behalf of Herman Burroughs, Chairperson of The Essential Friends Foundation (EFF),
welcome to our EFF website! My name is Carlo Anton Fontenot, and I serve as Director of the EFF's Dr.
Ronald E. McNair Memorial Scholarship Committee. Essential Friends Foundation is a non-profit
organization committed to providing charitable, educational, civic, and social programs and services as it
participates in the development of youth introduction to being good citizens. Each year the EFF provides
scholarship opportunities, through the Dr. Ronald E. McNair Memorial Scholarship, to worthy graduating
high school seniors who reside in the Houston metropolitan area. Our scholarship is named in honor and
in memory of Dr. Ronald E. McNair. The scholarship funds were established and dedicated to the high
standards of achievement inspired by Dr. McNair's life.

Community Service Project
The Shekinah project is an adopt-a family service project designed to support families during the holiday season. In collaboration with the Rho Beta Beta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Trinity Gardens Church of Christ, and serving all community partners, the Shenkinah project provides holiday meals for families in need as well as toys for the children in each family.
