Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicant must be a United States citizen.

• ​Applicant must be a resident of the Greater Houston Metropolitan area.

• Applicants must have applied for admission to and will be attending a full-
  time accredited post-secondary institution. Approved accredited
  institutions are defined as Title IV eligible, accredited, postsecondary two-
  or four-year colleges or universities, junior colleges, or community colleges in the United States.

Application Process:

• Application must be completed online (except for official high school transcript)

• A copy of your Official High School Transcript(s) - Must be submitted by
  High School Counselor or another official High School Representative
  Transcripts are to be either:

  • Emailed (preferred) to eff.scholarshipcommittee@gmail.com or

  • by mail to Essential Friends Foundation
    Attention Scholarship Committee
    P.O. Box 791
    Houston, TX 77001

• A copy of your Official ACT and/or SAT Scores (uploaded)

• Two letters of recommendations (uploaded)

• One from an academic source and One from a non-academic source (e.g., community leader, family friend, church official, business owner/manager, etc.)

• Letters must be on a professional letterhead or business letter format.

• The use of artificial intelligence to respond to any question is strictly forbidden and means for immediate disqualification.

• All application materials must be submitted by the due date of April 26, 2024
