McNair Scholarship Fund, a testament to Dr. McNair's commitment to education. Our esteemed board of directors works tirelessly to provide vital financial assistance to college-bound students in the metropolitan Houston area. With passion and purpose, we honor Dr. McNair's legacy, empowering low-income students in their pursuit of higher education. Together, we shape a thriving, educated community for all.
The Essential Friends Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded in 2017, is based upon the conviction that education is essential to a healthy thriving community. The Foundation provides a bridge for members of our community who otherwise would not have the financial means to fulfill their educational goals and build a successful future.
The Dr. Ronald E. McNair Scholarship Fund was established and dedicated to the high standards of achievement inspired by Dr. McNair’s life. The Fund provides financial assistance to college-bound students in the metropolitan Houston area. The Fund awards scholarships in two categories each year
Dr. Ronald McNair was an ardent supporter of education for young people and donated much of his time to endeavors that uplifted children in the community and encouraged students toward education in math, science, and engineering. It is in his memory and honor that this scholarship fund was established. The purpose of this scholarship fund is to provide financial assistance to college-bound, low-income students in the Houston metropolitan area.
